Education has always been part of the foundation of a community.  Education starts at home.  I want to promote family unity by expanding parent and kids programs and encouraging eating dinner together at the table. The core family values that shape the life of a child may not be taught in a classroom.  I am also concerned about administrative costs and not enough money being allocated to the classroom.  There is no reason why the Torrance Unified School District should ever suffer a shortage in funds to be spent in a classroom.  We need to allow the public to contribute towards maintaining and embellishing our schools by being able to actually pick up a brush and paint. Volunteer contractors should be able to build out a classroom without district supervision just inspections and guidelines. The TUSD and its success is a direct reflection of the hard work of the teachers, staff and above all the families that constantly dedicate time to their kids' education.
