The way the Mattucci Project works is that a group of volunteers will come by your street and pick up trash, remove weeds, trim overgrowth and hand out educational materials. Most property owners believe this is usually what we pay taxes for, but in cities like Los Angeles there is the Los Angeles Municipal Code, Chapter VI, Section 62.104 which puts the responsibility on the property owner. Also, with budget cuts and overall economic conditions we feel that all of us need to stay involved with maintaining and improving our streets, one curb at a time. Nothing wrong with picking up the neighbors trash. Our goal is to encourage property owners to start helping each other in maintaining curb appeal. Remember that most prospective buyers or renters will make a decision about the property by the time they drive up to it. Businesses also tend to do better in cleaner and more appealing conditions. Better business, means more jobs. But more importantly we want to help those who can't afford or aren't capable of taking care of their front yards. We help both residential and commercial property owners or occupants. Our philosophy is that it doesn't matter whose trash it is, or who is responsible for what.
