Streets falling apart after 50 years of neglect. City of Torrance by Aurelio Mattucci

Some of these streets in Torrance haven't been repaved in 50 years, yet some streets get a facelift every couple of years. What is wrong with this picture? I have been told we are barely getting out of the "Great Recession" and that a "ne...w plan" is in place. I can't help but wonder if we've been in a 50 year recession. What happened to all the tax dollars that have been paid by the tax payers living on these streets? And why do some streets get special treatment and others are left to rot? The answer is, LOOK AT WHO LIVES ON THE NICE STREETS? If elected I will push for a plan that would take care of the most effected areas first. The areas that have been abandoned by city hall will get their streets repaved if I have to go out and shovel tar myself. Stop telling us about your five year plan. No more empty promises. Hold City Council accountable for their promises and stop telling us, "There's No Money". The money is there if we use our money on PRIORITIES. These photos are two of many I have taken around town. If you want things to change, the voters need to cut the chains that connect us to current and past administrations and get off to a fresh start. I am a hands on candidate that WILL get things done. CLEAN 100 FEET AROUND YOU AND YOU WILL SEE THE CITY CHANGE IMMEDIATELY...... Aurelio Mattucci

What is the "Mattucci Project"?
We are volunteers helping eachother build cleaner and safer communities. The way the Mattucci Project works is that a group of volunteers will come by your street and pick up trash, remove weeds, trim overgrowth and hand out educational materials.
Most property owners believe this is usually what we pay taxes for, but in cities like Los Angeles there is the Los Angeles Municipal Code, Chapter VI, Section 62.104 which puts the responsibility on the property owner. Also, with budget cuts and overall economic conditions we feel that all of us need to stay involved with maintaining and improving our streets, one curb at a time. Nothing wrong with picking up the neighbors trash. Our goal is to encourage property owners to start helping each other in maintaining curb appeal.
Remember that most prospective buyers or renters will make a decision about the property by the time they drive up to it. Businesses also tend to do better in cleaner and more appealing conditions. Better business, means more jobs.
But more importantly we want to help those who can't afford or aren't capable of taking care of their front yards. We help both residential and commercial property owners or occupants.
Our philosophy is that it doesn't matter whose trash it is, or who is responsible for what. We just take care of it and encourage others to do the same.
